Investigating Bird Beaks

First grade learned all about plants and animals. In this chapter we looked deeper into birds beaks and how they work. We spoke about the various ways a bird uses it's beak. Each student received a bowl of different size strings, kernels and seeds. We used tweezers or two pencil tips to act as birds and see how difficult or easy it is to be a bird. All of the children agreed that birds work really hard to build their homes and eat.
