In our unit of Solids, we learned we are able to measure using non standard forms of measurement. The students broke up into teams and collected items from around the room to measure. They used index cards to measure, paper clips, pencils, markers, crayons, erasers, Lego's and more. They kept a chart that had to columns. In the first column they had to predict the measurements of their items. In column two, they had to measure and write they actual measurement. We met on the rug to discuss our findings.
