Movement in Liquids

Today we spoke about how liquids differ and how it effects movement in them. As an experiment, we took 3 clear cups and filled them with different liquids. Cup A was filled with Vitamin Water, Cup B had oil and Cup C had corn syrup. We first observed how the different liquids moved in the cups they were in, then one by one we dropped a die in the liquids and observed their movement. We saw it moved right through the vitamin water and dropped to the bottom of the cup, it moved slower in the oil and also dropped to the bottom of the cup, however when dropping it into the cup with corn syrup, it stayed at the top of the liquid and didn't move. As we went along, the children were given a chart and clipboard to draw our conclusions.
