Investigating Property Changes

We learned that when Scientist do experiments, they do them over and over to get their conclusions. During the experiments, scientists will change something in their experiment such as the amount of water being used, the temperature of something, etc. First grade did an investigation putting different solids into water ie salt and sand.. We predicted what would happen to each solid when mixed in water. Then we wrote our conclusions when doing the actual experiment.
As a side experiment, we filled a cup up with water, stating it was a liquid. We took the cup and placed it in the freezer, the cold air making it ice, a solid over night. Then leaving it out on the counter turned it back into a liquid. We left the cup of water on the counter and are watching for it to turn into a gas. Each day we observe if the water has gone down at all.
