Working with Base Ten Blocks in Math

Our focus in Math has been addition and subtraction  up to the number forty. Part of the unit focuses on Place Value. We focused on the tens and ones place. An easy way for children to learn how to count any number, especially place value is to use manipulative materials. For this lesson we used base ten blocks to help count while working with slates and our math textbooks.
