Please join our class in participating in Literacy Month this February! We have many exciting activities and events planned - all aimed at increasing your child's love of reading!
There will be many ways to participate - one of which includes visiting our classroom one day in February to read-aloud one of your child's favorite books! We are starting to schedule parents now, so please let me know when you might be available.
The best times to come in are:
Monday - Thursday 11:20-12:15
Friday - 9:20-10:15
However, we will be flexible with your schedule, just let us know when's good for you. There is a calendar hanging outside our classroom for you to sign up. Please write your name and the time you would like to come in. One parents per day please. You can come in the same weeks the book fair is going on as well. If you email me a time you would like to come in, I can write it in for you.
Once you've got a date scheduled, you will need to select the book that you would like to read to the class. Here are some guidelines to consider:
a) It should be a book that your child enjoys reading at home.
b) Please keep in mind the length of the books we read in class are not too long to accommodate the attention of the children when being read to in a group. If you would like, let me know the book you would like to read and I can help you decide if it's too long or just right.
Looking forward to seeing you...
Sincerely,
Morah Gaby
